Action for Development (ACFODE) is a National women’s rights organization founded on 19th November 1985 to provide a platform for effective debate and action on women’s rights, empowerment, and gender equality in Uganda. Our vision is ‘A just society where gender equality is a reality and our mission is to empower women, girls and influence legislation and policy for gender equality in Uganda. On behalf of the Action for Development Board of Directors, the staff, the donors, and our many volunteers over the years, I like to thank everyone who has supported us in this journey of empowering women, girls and influencing legislation and policy for gender equality all over Uganda. Action for Development’s programs and activities focus on four main pillars which are; policy advocacy and research, leadership development, trans-formative Social-Cultural Change, and Economic Empowerment.
